I don't know if everyone has the opportunity to use steel mesh in their daily lives, and how do they feel about it after using it? If you think you have a good understanding of steel mesh, let's take a look at the introduction about the performance of steel mesh with the editor. Below are the seismic performance issues that everyone is concerned about.
The seismic resistance effect of steel mesh is outstanding. Steel mesh is a mesh where longitudinal and transverse steel bars are placed at a certain distance and at right angles to each other, and all intersections are welded together. According to raw materials, it can be divided into: cold-rolled ribbed steel mesh, cold drawn round steel mesh, and hot-rolled ribbed steel mesh, among which cold-rolled ribbed steel mesh is used. Steel mesh is divided into two types based on the trademark, diameter, length, and distance of the steel bars: fixed steel mesh and non customized steel mesh.
The steel mesh generally adopts CRB550 grade cold-rolled ribbed steel bars or GB1499 rule trademark hot-rolled ribbed steel bars. The diameter of the steel mesh is 4-14mm, and a progressive diameter of 0.5mm can be used between them. Considering transportation conditions, the length of the welded mesh should not exceed 12m and the width should not exceed 3.4m. The distance between the steel bars (or longitudinal bars) in the direction of welding net production should be 100, 150, and 200mm, while the distance between the steel bars in the other direction is generally 100, 150, 200, and 300mm, sometimes up to 400mm.

When the longitudinal and transverse steel bars of the welded mesh are all single steel bars, the nominal diameter of the thinner steel bars should not be less than 0.6 times the nominal diameter of the thicker steel bars, that is, dmin ≥ 0.6damx. The shear resistance (in N) of the welded joint of the welding mesh should not be less than the product of 150 and the nominal cross-sectional area of the thicker steel bar (in mm2).
Popularize the application of steel mesh in cast-in-place reinforced concrete. The steel mesh has the following advantages compared to traditional manual binding of steel bars:
Engineering quality: The steel mesh is produced by a fully automatic and intelligent production line under strict quality control in the factory. The grid scale, steel bar standards, and all have been strictly controlled. Avoiding the occurrence of manual tying net loss, unstable tying, tying errors, and cutting corners. Its mesh has high rigidity, good elasticity, uniform and accurate distance, and high welding point strength. Therefore, it greatly improves the quality of the project.
Reinforcement mesh enhances seismic and crack resistance functions: The longitudinal and transverse bars of the welded steel mesh form a mesh structure, which has good bonding and anchoring properties with concrete. The accepted load can be evenly distributed, significantly improving the seismic and crack resistance functions of reinforced concrete structures. According to actual tests, laying welded steel mesh and manually tying the mesh along the road can reduce the occurrence of cracks by more than 75%.
