According to Clarkson's latest statistics (as of October 9, 2024), 116 new orders were signed in September 2024, with a total of 3,865,556 CGT. Compared with the 180 new orders signed in August 2024, totaling 5,736,893 CGT, the number decreased by 64 ships month-on-month, and the revised gross tonnage decreased by 32.62% month-on-month. Compared with the 245 new orders signed in September 2023, totaling 3,960,462 CGT, the number of new orders signed in the world decreased by 129 year-on-year, and the revised gross tonnage decreased by 2.40% year-on-year

In terms of ship type, there are 3 bulk carriers, with a total of 228,000 deadweight tons; 13 chemical tankers with a total of 475,000 deadweight tons; 34 container ships, with a total of 403696 TEUs; 25 liquefied gas carriers, totaling 3,131,500 cubic meters; 23 other ship types, totaling 227,740 CGT; There are 18 offshore vessels, with a total of 215,366 CGT.

From the perspective of order types, bulk carriers signed 2 new Kamsar bulk carriers and 1 Handysize bulk carrier; Container ships signed 16 new post-Panamamax container ships, 12 Panamamax container ships and 6 handysize container ships.

In terms of shipyard countries, there were 116 global new ship orders in September, totaling 3,865,556 CGT, of which 81 Chinese shipyards received 3,120,998 CGT; Japan shipyard received 3 ships, totaling 36074CGT; Korea shipyards received 20 vessels, totaling 633,609 CGT.
